Renee's route to world cup

A WOMAN from Pilrig has returned from Durban in South Africa where she helped with a world cup competition for children living on the streets.

Renee Rowland, 26, an assistant at business advisory firm Deloitte in Edinburgh, joined 80 volunteers from around the world to help with the inaugural Deloitte Street Child World Cup.

She said: "The experience really opened my eyes to a completely different world. To be able to give back something to these children was really rewarding."
