'Relaxed' Goodwin enjoys Good Friday lunch with new colleagues

FORMER RBS boss Sir Fred Goodwin was spotted enjoying the Easter sunshine after a Good Friday lunch with his new colleagues at RMJM architects.

The 51-year-old dined in an Edinburgh pizza restaurant with his boss Peter Morrison, whom he met through Mr Morrison's father, Fraser. The pair had worked together during Sir Fred's days as chief executive of Clydesdale Bank.

Sir Fred appeared to have let his guard down in his home city for the first time since having his windows smashed 12 months ago. Having returned from hiding in the French Riviera, Sir Fred was sporting a tan and appeared "happy with life".

An onlooker at the West End Bar Roma said: "Goodwin seemed pretty relaxed. The five of them sat round a table away from the rest of the diners. It would have been fun to see who was footing the bill."

The former RBS chief joined the firm as a consultant in January. Sir Fred and Mr Morrison were joined for lunch by Nick Haston, the firm's Middle East director.

Bar Roma staff declined to comment.
