Recognition for campaign

A GROUP that won the fight against plans for a controversial shake-up of care for Edinburgh's most vulnerable people is to be congratulated in the City Chambers.

The Learning Disability Alliance Scotland is to be congratulated at Thursday's full council meeting for winning "Campaign of the year" at a national society awards ceremony.

Councillor Lesley Hinds, a spokeswoman for the Labour group on the city council, has lodged a motion saying that the award is a "fitting tribute" to the "hard work, dedication and tenacity" of the group.
