Rebus author books place as library favourite

AUTHOR Ian Rankin has been named as the most popular Scottish writer by readers at West Lothian libraries.

To mark his popularity, the crime writer visited Carmondean Library in Livingston to collect an award from the council and carry out a book-signing for his fans.

Mr Rankin was presented with a certificate and bottle of whisky by library services manager Jeanette Castle.

More than 100 people attended the event.
