Readers’ Queries

THIS week, we have a question from a reader looking to find an old car owned by his father.

Q: Eric Winning has already done a lot of work in tracing the vehicle, but he has hit a dead end.

He writes: “I am trying to locate a 1934 Morris Minor car which was owned by my father and myself from 1938 to 1957. Its registration at the time was JB3369.

“I sold the car in the mid 1980s to a dealer who then sold it on to Tony Foot, who lived in Oxford. The dealer sold the registration separately to someone in Scotland.

“I lost contact with Tony Foot but have just made contact with his son to find, unfortunately, that Tony had died. He had carried out a lot of restoration work but was unable to complete it having moved to Portsmouth without suitable premises to work on it.

“So the car was sold and it followed its old number plate to Scotland and was bought by the owner of ‘a very small family-owned garage in Scotland’.

“These are the only details I have but I would love to see my car again, hopefully complete.

“I would be most grateful if anyone was able to help me locate the new owners.”
