Re-tender meeting shift

AN INDEPENDENT report on the city council's controversial plans to re-tender care services for nearly 800 of Edinburgh's most vulnerable people is to be discussed in a fortnight.

The report by Deloitte was due to be heard at a finance committee meeting yesterday but chief executive Tom Aitchison had said council officials were not yet be in the position to share it.

At yesterday's meeting, finance leader Councillor Phil Wheeler said additional time is required to produce a committee report and get "further advice".

The meeting has now been re-arranged for 2pm on February 4.
