RBS protesters coming to city

ECO warriors targeting the Royal Bank of Scotland over its alleged role in financing companies which harm the environment are to set up a protest camp in Edinburgh.

A group called Camp for Climate Action, which has previously campaigned against the expansion of Heathrow Airport and the Kingsnorth power station in Kent, promised a "spectacular" event during the protest planned for 21-24 August.

Spokesman Ed Thompson said: "Our plans are kept under wraps until the day, but we can promise a well-planned spectacular during the week."

They claim RBS is the UK bank most heavily involved in financing fossil fuel companies.
