The 27-year-old, who has also played for Scotland, has been involved with Rangers for 11 years.

Rangers manager Walter Smith said McGregor will play in tomorrow's SPL match against Hamilton Academical.

Smith said he was confident the goalkeeper was in the right frame of mind to play football.

"He will still be in the plan for tomorrow.

Smith added: "You'd need to ask to ask him how he's feeling. It's very difficult for any of us to comment on the situation as we don't know the full aspect.

"He will be involved in the team tomorrow and we will leave it at that."
