Rangers fan admits to bomb threat

A RANGERS fan called for Celtic manager Neil Lennon to be bombed on a social networking site because he “doesn’t like him”, a court heard yesterday.

Allan McCormack, 25, posted the message “Bomb Neil Lennon, bomb him now” on Facebook following an Old Firm game in March last year.

McCormack, of Colebrook Street, Glasgow, pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by posting the message on 30 April, 2011, which was offensive and threatening by threatening Neil Lennon with violence.

The court was told that Strathclyde Police violence reduction co-ordination unit were involved in an inquiry into online hate messages directed at Mr Lennon.

The court heard McCormack is an “avid Rangers supporter” and often attends games. He will be sentenced next month. His bail order was continued.
