Rangers bosses targeted after phone numbers posted on Twitter

RANGERS manager Ally McCoist and chief executive Charles Green were reportedly subject to abusive phone calls after their numbers were revealed on social networking site Twitter by a Celtic supporter.

Stuart Kennedy, who has since deleted his Twitter account, posted the private information while watching Celtic’s Champions League match against Helsingborgs on Wednesday night.

He claimed the numbers were being shared among the crowd at Parkhead and tweeted: “No joke, the belfast bhoys have been giving them it tight all day! haha.”

He later claimed that the numbers were sent to him in a text message and said he “wasn’t sure” of their veracity.

Kennedy told The Sun newspaper he had no idea the phone numbers belonged to McCoist and Green and was just passing them on as a joke.

A Rangers spokesman said the numbers were made available following the theft of a mobile phone.

Strathclyde Police said inquiries were continuing into the matter.
