Rail delays after ill passenger treated by medics

COMMUTERS faced delays this morning when trains ground to a halt after a passenger was taken ill at Edinburgh Park.

Paramedics were called to the station around 8am when a passenger on the 6.39am service from Perth to Edinburgh Waverley became unwell.

A spokeswoman for ScotRail said: “Due to a passenger taken ill on board a train at Edinburgh Park at around 08:00 today, services running through the station were disrupted.

Trains started to return to normal around 40 minutes later, although there were some knock-on delays.”

Many passengers took to Twitter to vent their frustration at the hold up.

Gordon Chree tweeted: “Confusion and delay on the 8.23am Scotrail Livingston North to Edinburgh. “The “expected” time gets later every minute.”

Dean Anderson posted: “Stuck on an extremely overcrowded 8.06 Scotrail train from Livingston North to Edinburgh Park.”
