Radio station makes waves

A COMMUNITY radio station has had a “phenomenal” response after going live on the FM airwaves over Christmas.

Haddington-based station East Coast FM, run by a team of volunteers, went live on 87.7FM at the start of December on a temporary licence, having previously only been available online.

The station hopes its success will add weight to its bid to gain a full licence from regulator Ofcom later this year.
