Race night is worth a punt

the Dnipro Appeal children’s charity, organised by Hibs fans, is to host a charity race night to boost funds for orphanages it helps in the Ukraine.

The event at the Hibs Supporters’ Club on April 21 will include a raffle and an auction. Supporters can purchase a horse in advance for £10, or turn up on the night. Businesses are also sought to sponsor races.

The charity was set up by fans after they visited the city of Dnipropetrovsk for a European match in 2005. It supports three orphanages in the city, helping to provide basic supplies for around 300 children.
