Quilters have it all covered

A TEAM of quilters has transformed unwanted curtains and bedspreads from hotels into cosy creations for hospice patients.

The eight-strong Warm Hearts Quilting Group meets regularly at the Holy Cross Church hall, on Ferry Road, and has designed 30 quilts for St Columba's Hospice.

A tonne of materials was bought by the group from a recycling shop in Leith, comprising unwanted fabrics from hotels.

The group has since received a waste action grant from the city council to make even more quilts, this time for Jericho House.
