Quick-starters needed for popular race

RUNNERS need to be quick off the mark to secure a spot in a popular road race.

Only the first 250 applicants will win places in the Edinburgh to North Berwick race, a scenic 20-mile route along the East Lothian coast.

They will set off from Portobello Promenade on Saturday 1 May and pass Musselburgh Racecourse on their way to North Berwick. Last year Ray Ward set a new record for the course when he completed it in just one hour 53 minutes.
