Quebec to show Salmond independence files

QUEBEC premier Pauline Marois has promised she will offer her independence files to Scotland’s First Minister and raised the prospect of an “entente or agreement” between the countries in future.

The two leaders were due to hold talks in Edinburgh today with discussions on Quebec’s series of independence votes in the 1980s and 1990s expected to be on the agenda.

In a second vote in 1995, came close to delivering independence for the predominantly French-speaking Canadian state,

Ms Marois said her administration had large amounts of 
information.
