Pupils serve up royal treat at Balmoral

SCHOOL pupils have visited the Balmoral Hotel’s kitchens to prepare for a competition which sees them serve up food fit for the Queen.

The Victoria Primary youngsters were challenged to design a menu of canapés for the monarch’s Diamond Jubilee party as part of the Cooking for the Queen competition.

Chefs Brian Mackie and Sean Arnot helped primary six pupils prepare Cullen Skink tartlets, Highland venison carpaccio, haggis wontons, mini-venison Scotch eggs and raspberry cranachan cheesecakes.
