Pupils pull together at launch

A TEAM of youngsters were testing their strength by attempting to pull a Ryanair passenger jet, at the launch of the annual Edinburgh Airport Youth Games.

Aimee McRae, Lauren Davie, Max Charlston, Jake Charlston, Ellen Cranston and Louise Ramsay will be among thousands of children taking part in this year's event.

The games will see children across Edinburgh compete in a fun day of sports including athletics, football, golf, gymnastics, rugby and swimming.

Sponsored by Edinburgh Airport, the games are being held on 13 May, and have a "Super-Human" theme.

A record number of more than 1,700 children have registered to take part.

Keith Jackson, chief executive of Edinburgh Leisure, said:

"The Edinburgh Airport Youth Games encourages children to discover their potential."
