Punters flooding in to newest bar in city

The Capital’s newest bar has opened – despite an upstairs neighbour flooding it days before it was due to be unveiled.

The Raeburn in Stockbridge was supposed to open on Wednesday, but boss Norval Barclay arrived days before to find it under a foot of water. The deluge occurred after a nearby tenant accidentally left the taps on.

However, after days of clearing up, the Dean Street bar opened on Friday.

Mr Barclay said: “Hopefully the punters will now come in two by two. It was just unfortunate – we’re on great terms with our neighbours.”
