‘Punch’ claim after taxi drivers fall out

A BLACK cab driver allegedly punched a private hire driver outside a city nightclub after the pair became involved in a row.

A 30-year-old private hire driver was parked outside Silk nightclub in King’s Stables Road when an argument erupted with a black cab driver at around 3am on Friday.

The cab driver got out of his vehicle and allegedly punched the victim before driving off towards the Grassmarket, police said.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

At the time, the black cab driver had two passengers in his vehicle who may have witnessed the exchange, and officers are keen to trace them.

Officers are also keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
