Pub regulars raise a cheer with Christmas toy collection

CUSTOMERS at a city bar have donated around 200 new toys to help underprivileged children.

The Marksman Bar, in Leith, has collected a range of treats, including CDs, teddies and toy kitchens.

Staff member Dionne Martin said: “The Marksman is a small community bar and over the last few weeks our customers have managed to collect all this.

“Considering today’s financial climate, we feel this is a massive achievement and are so proud our customers and friends have come together to achieve such a fantastic response.”

The collection was in aid of Forth One’s Cash for Kids Christmas appeal, in association with Asda, which asks people to be “Secret Santa” and buy an extra present to help make a real difference to a local child this Christmas.

The toys will be distributed to underprivileged children across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife.
