£7660 raised for Botanics

A PUBLIC appeal for donations to help with the cost of restoration work at the Royal Botanic Garden after severe storms has raised more than £7500.

The Botanics was left facing a restoration bill of more than £1 million after gale-force winds wreaked havoc at the popular visitor attraction. The appeal has now raised £7660.

The destruction caused by the 100mph winds earlier this month is the most extensive seen by the Edinburgh garden in the last 30 years.
