£70,000 to be spent on school traffic calming

NEW traffic calming measures are to be introduced near a city high school.

The city council is to spend up to 70,000 on work near the new Tynecastle High School.

The new traffic calming feature is to be introduced at McLeod Street. It will also include an upgrade of an existing puffin crossing on Gorgie Road. The work is to be carried out during the summer holidays, which run from 5 July to 13 August. The council yesterday advertised the tender notice and interested companies must apply by 29 April.
