£300k grant for property

A VICTORIAN property designed for a prominent city wine merchant and described as a “palatial residence” has received a conservation grant worth almost £300,000.

The former home of Arthur Sanderson, in Learmonth Terrace, has been awarded a £290,381 repayable grant for stonework improvements, conservation of the front door, and repairs to the cast-iron gutters and downpipes.

The building is now 
occupied by the Royal Auxiliary Air Force.
