£200k of cannabis seized in organised crime blitz

Cannabis worth £200,000 has been seized by police in a campaign to target organised crime groups.

Two people found in possession of the drug were arrested in west Fife on Thursday night.

Fife Police say they have seized more than 1 million worth of drugs since their campaign began in April.

Detective Superintendent Garry McEwan, head of crime management, said: "These latest arrests send out a very strong message to those involved in the supply of drugs within Fife that their evil trade will not be tolerated.

"These continuing drug operations, at both a force and local level, are reflective of the wider community engagement priorities. They serve as evidence of the force's commitment to tackling those issues identified as being of most concern to local communities.

"People in our local communities hold the key to continued success and I would again urge members of the public to continue to alert Fife Constabulary to any concerns."
