£1.8m funding chance for health projects

HEALTH projects are being invited to apply for a share of a new £1.8 million funding pot.

The Edinburgh & Lothians Health Foundation is making the cash available through its Grants Programme 2013/2014 in a bid to create “a healthier future for the people of Scotland”.

Music in Hospitals, which was handed £25,000 in last year’s inaugural programme, went on to perform more than 200 live shows in NHS hospitals.

Linda Ferrier, senior charge nurse at Midlothian Community Hospital, said: “The best response was from a gentleman who sang along with the band, who previously had not shown any interest for years.”
