£1500 sustainability award

Environmental champion Forward Scotland is offering community groups in Edinburgh £1500 cash to improve their sustainability and help make them more effective.

Any community-based groups that rely on volunteers could be eligible for their 'Sus It Out Plus' programme. To claim the money all they have to do is attend a two-hour workshop which will explain what the money can be used for.

Generally it has to be spent on training that will help make management more effective and its activities more sustainable. This might include bookkeeping classes, attending a workshop to improve the group's governance or learning how to use the media to publicise activities.
