£1,500 bill for car vandalism

POLICE are hunting a vandal who caused £1,500 worth of damage to a car after a corrosive liquid was thrown on to the vehicle.

The attack was carried out on a Peugeot parked in Burnside Road on Gorebridge, Midlothian at around 11:30pm on Friday.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man from Gorebridge was charged with possessing cannabis after a stop and search in the village's Burnside Road on Saturday.

The man will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, 30 April over the incident.
