£12.5m upgrade at university

WORK began yesterday on a £12.5 million scheme to upgrade and expand Dundee University’s College of Life Sciences, in a
development expected to create 200 jobs

The expansion includes a new Centre for Translational and Interdisciplinary Research.

More than 1,000 scientists, research students and support staff are based at the college.

Professor Michael Ferguson, dean of research, said: “The high-level objectives are to enhance translational research by expanding drug discovery capa­city, to enhance computational biology, mathematical biology and biophysics, and to provide future expansion space.”
