Proposal for crematorium

A PROPOSAL for a £3 million crematorium in East Lothian is expected to be submitted next month.

Bookmaker and entrepreneur Bert Logan has been drawing up plans for the scheme at a yet-to-be-decided location in co-operation with another investor, understood to be a major funeral care provider.

East Lothian Council invited proposals for a crematorium because of increasing pressure on the county’s burial sites.

Tranent is believed to be one of two possible locations identified by Mr Logan.
