Project looks to work on self-employment

A NEW project is to be set up in the Capital in a bid to promote self-employment and new business start-ups.

Housing association Castle Rock Edinvar has secured Scottish Government funding to help provide one-to-one support.

A series of monthly awareness events are to be held across the city until March 2011 to promote the project, which is being run in partnership with the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and Business Gateway.

Participants will be given help, support and information to help turn their ideas into viable businesses.

Alister Steele, Castle Rock's managing director, said: "This project will help bring more person-centred support into the areas most in need."
