Project back on Meadows

A PILOT project which successfully tackled antisocial behaviour on the Meadows is set to return after it emerged that calls to police had reduced by 60 per cent.

The Union will make a comeback after a successful 12-week run which started in March.

The drive combined youth work on Bruntsfield Links with a drop-in “dry bar” for 12-18-year-old’s at the Edinburgh Napier Student union on a Saturday night – when police saw a 100 per cent reduction in calls.

Sergeant Scott Casey said: “The kids on Bruntsfield Links were drinking because they had nothing else to do.”
