Prisoner treated after cell fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze in a cell at Addiewell Prison in West Lothian in the early hours of this morning.

The fire broke out at about 4.30am.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said a 49-year-old man was involved.

He was treated for smoke inhalation but an ambulance spokesman said he did not go to hospital.
