Pride of Britain award for Ryan

A GLASGOW teenager who set up a multiple sclerosis charity after his mother was diagnosed with the condition is among the Pride of Britain winners announced yesterday.

Ryan McLaughlin, 15, formed Shine on Scotland and has campaigned successfully for the Scottish Government to educate people on the importance of vitamin D to combat MS. He won Teenager of Courage in this year's awards.

Other winners include PC David Rathband, the officer shot in the face by gunman Raoul Moat, who won the Daybreak Emergency Services Award. The awards will be handed out at a star-studded ceremony today.
