Poor signal hits bowl-out

A WORLD-first “bowl-out” between two cricket teams which was to be held via the internet has had to be delayed – due to concerns over the wi-fi signal at the Grange Cricket Club.

Grange and opponents Aberdeenshire came up with the novel plan after their Cricket Scotland Trophy semi-final was twice rained off.

They were set to contest the bowl-out – cricket’s equivalent of football’s penalty shoot-out – yesterday, with the teams 130 miles apart. But Cricket Scotland instead urged the teams to re-arrange the fixture.
