Youth jobs hotline live

LIVINGSTON MSP Angela Constance has launched a national hotline aiming to get teenagers into education or training.

The service, Opportunities for All, will offer advice to 16 to 19-year-olds and aims to meet the Scottish Government’s pledge to offer a place in training, college or university to every person in that age bracket.

Minister for youth employment Ms Constance said:“We are determined that all our young people have a dedicated contact point where they can get advice.”

Tory education spokeswoman Liz Smith MSP said: “We have thousands failing to secure the place in college they want, and a growing number of business leaders who tell us they cannot find young workers with the adequate skills.”
