Youngsters' Bill in print

THE landmark Children’s Commissioner’s Bill was due to be presented to youngsters in Edinburgh today.

Members of the Scottish Parliament’s education, culture and sport committee will unveil the first published copies of the bill.

If it is passed, the bill will establish an independent Children’s Commissioner whose role will be to promote youth rights and work particularly with deprived children.

Children from the Craigmillar Venchie Project, who will be at the meeting today, were among the more than 100 young people who were involved in the consultation during the drafting of the bill.
