The Week in Cartoons

This was the week that the political oven that is British politics baked the type of political scandal that would have been difficult to believe had it been featured in a plot in The Thick of It.

The whole episode was sparked by Chancellor George Osborne’s Budget decision to put tax certain hot foodstuffs - namely pies and other hot pastry-coated goods.

Twitter went into meltdown over whether or not Prime Minister David Cameron was a regular at Greggs while his opposition counterpart Ed Miliband was snapped along with Ed Balls on a PR stunt to said pastry specialist.

In other more serious news, the Royal Mail is set to raise the cost of a postage stamp to 60p meaning the cost of the annual Christmas card ritual is set to rocket.
