Voting guide in the post

A GUIDE on how to use the vote in the local government elections will be landing on doorsteps across the city this week ahead of polling day on May 3.

The city council is urging voters to make sure they are registered by 18 April.

Edinburgh residents will be asked to vote by numbers under the Single Transferable Voting system. Each voter will be asked to number candidates in the order of their choice, using one, two, and three and so on.

People can register to vote by calling the Lothian Valuation Joint Board on 0131 344 2500 or downloading a form from www.lothian-vjb.gov.uk
