Video: Scottish Parliament day in Dumbarton

THE Scottish Parliament visited Dumbarton earlier this week, to find out what issues mattered most to local people.

The visit also focused on the Housing (Scotland) Bill - the first time that scrutiny of a Bill has ever featured as part of a Parliament Day.

The Committee also met a number of tenants, residents groups and housing association representatives to hear views and gather information on the Bill.

MSPs including Annabel Goldie and Stewart Maxwell attended two primary schools to be interviewed by pupils for special newspapers.

There was even time for a quick visit to the fictional Shieldinch - better known as the town featuring in BBC Scotland drama River City - and to Rockvale Rebound, an award-winning talking newspaper, with Presiding Officer Tricia Marwick and Jackie Baillie MSP getting involved with the latest edition.
