Trump to give evidence in green energy probe

US tycoon Donald Trump will give evidence to a Holyrood committee probing green energy targets next month, it was announced yesterday.

Members of the Scottish Parliament’s economy, energy and tourism committee invited the well-known businessman to appear before them after he decided to bankroll an anti-wind farm campaign “to save Scotland”.

Mr Trump has branded wind turbines “ugly monstrosities” and “horrendous machines”.

The committee, which is investigating how achievable the Scottish Government’s 2020 renewable energy targets are, will hear from Communities Against Turbines at the same time as Mr Trump gives his evidence.
