IT’S a day which has been long in the waiting for both supporters and opponents of Scottish independence and now the talking is over and the time has come for voters to cast their ballots.
Here we speak to Yes and No voters in Edinburgh after casting their ballot on one of the most historic days in Scotland’s history.
The polling booths will close at 10pm tonight with the count starting immediately after.
The results will be announced throughout the night with Aberdeen, the last council area to announce it’s results, being called at 6am on the 19th.
• The Scotsman will be running a live blog to cover the referendum on Scottish independence, with news, pictures, tweets and much more from around Scotland and further afield as the country goes to the polls.
