Regeneration on Holyrood agenda

A HOLYROOD committee has launched an inquiry into the importance of regeneration to communities across Scotland.

The local government and regeneration committee will examine how effective it has been in terms of reversing the economic, physical and social decline in areas across the country. It will also look at whether there is enough funding for regeneration.

The committee will begin its inquiry with a visit to Cumbernauld Glen Wildlife Reserve, a community-based conservation project that is home to the Glen Mile mountain bike trail.

Convener Kevin Stewart MSP said: “We want to know what impact regeneration actually has in practice.”
