Polling firm Survation have recorded the highest-ever level of support for a ‘Yes’ vote in September’s Scottish independence referendum in their latest opinion poll. The poll was carried out for the Daily Record and Dundee University.

Meanwhile, former Nato secretary-general Lord George Robertson has claimed that Scottish independence would be “very bad news” for the whisky industry, and the Deputy First Minister has said pensioners in Scotland could be around £260 a year better off after independence.
