Labour leader Ed Miliband called on Scots to vote No to “get rid of a Tory government” as he made his latest intervention in the independence referendum campaign. Miliband was visiting the Gyle shopping centre in Edinburgh.

In other news, police have launched an investigation after a man threatened to firebomb a Better Together campaign office in Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire on Wednesday.

The man reportedly entered the office within the Cumbernauld Shopping Centre on Wednesday morning, and told staff that he would attack the building if they did not leave within 24 hours.

It has also emerged that Ukip leader Nigel Farage is set to hold an anti-independence rally in Glasgow in September, just days before the referendum vote takes place.
