PM demands Scottish empowerment

PRIME Minister David Cameron has called on Alex Salmond to hand more powers to “people and communities” in Scotland ahead of a trip north on the local election campaign trail today.

The Conservative leader hailed an “important fortnight for devolution” after MSPs at Holyrood backed the Scotland Bill.

“We’ve seen all four main parties working together for Scotland,” Mr Cameron said ahead of today’s visit. “I promised that I would deliver on devolution and next week should see the Bill pass through Westminster.
