New devolution model for Scotland called for

FORMER Labour health minister Malcolm Chisholm today calls for a new convention to set out plans for a stronger devolution model for Scotland, describing as a “ridiculous failure of democracy” the fact that none of the major parties in Scotland have so far put it forward.

Writing in The Scotsman, he says the current Scotland Bill – which proposes to hand new tax powers to Holyrood – should be “ditched”, saying it as a “technocratic fix” that will not satisfy people.
