Donald Trump’s approach to foreign affairs is “beyond strange” and would leave the US a “totally isolated country”, Jeremy Corbyn has said.
The Labour leader said the Republican presidential nominee had looked at the rest of the world and “wants to get off” it.
Both Mr Trump and Mr Corbyn have enjoyed success within their parties as a result of an anti-establishment swing, but the Labour leader rejected the comparison.
He added: “I find Donald Trump’s approach to international affairs beyond strange. When he says that he doesn’t want any trade treaties with anybody, because he thinks they are a bad idea, how on earth is the US going to trade with anybody?”
