Implant campaign to meet Sturgeon

Women affected by the PIP breast implants scandal will take their appeal for a public inquiry to the health secretary next week.

Members of the PIP Implants Scotland campaign group will be joined by two Labour MSPs to meet Nicola Sturgeon on Thursday.

As many as 4,000 women in Scotland may have been given the implants by private companies, it has been estimated.

Trisha Devine, Scottish campaign spokeswoman, said: “We’ve put together a powerful case for a full, independent public inquiry to be held here in Scotland.”
