Home from home: French voters go to the polls … in Edinburgh

FRENCH voters queued up outside the Institut Français d’Écosse, in Randolph Crescent, Edinburgh yesterday as presidential elections got under way.

With about a third of the vote counted in the first round, incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy had secured 26 per cent against rival François Hollande’s 28.5. The run off is scheduled for 6 May.
